When my wife and I were dating, I discovered my wife sometimes got wound up while traveling. Marriage didn't interrupt this pattern. Because my wife didn't want to to take a chance on being embarrassed, she started agreeing to take her paddlings before we left home. After she had a good cry, things usually went more smoothly than they might otherwise have gone.
